Audrey Humphreys

Business Services Manager

Born and educated in Liverpool Audrey started her career as Company Secretary for a firm of Turf Accountants. However, the entrepreneurial spirit beckoned and 1989 saw Audrey move to North Wales, turning a hobby into a successful leisure business, teaching paragliding from the Clwydian Mountains.

In 2000 Audrey, probably due to a mid-life crisis, made a career change and embarked on a lifelong ambition to run a children's day nursery, which proved very successful. However, family commitments, caring for her elderly mother, led Audrey to the Isle of Man in 2005, and a position with the Isle of Man Children's Centre. Audrey developed the Playwork department and was promoted to the charity's Senior Management Team.

An interesting and varied career, and throughout Audrey engaged with professional development achieving relevant professional qualifications including undertaking an Open University Degree.

When it comes to leisuretime Audrey still enjoys flying, but generally tandem with her husband these days. Children feature highly too, doting on her grandson and entertaining at children's parties.
